A message from Maddie, site admin: Candice-Accola.net was hacked the weekend of January 7, 2012. Unfortunately, despite many restoration attempts, the site wasn’t able to be restored to its previous state. This meant that over a year’s worth of content was lost. Yes, over a year’s worth of content… including: half of the photo gallery, many of the main site’s pages, and the entire video archive.
After much deliberation, I’ve decided to continue on with the site and rebuild what was lost. My offline schedule doesn’t exactly allow for this at the moment (I am a full-time college student and I have a job), but I’m going to try my best! I just ask that you guys have patience with me and understand that the site might not be quite up to par for a while, depending on how often I’m able to work on rebuildling everything.
I also want to mention how thankful I am for the overwhelming amount of support I’ve received during this time. To my Twitter pals, fellow fansite owners, and frequent site visitors – your encouragement and optimism was a HUGE factor in my decision to not shut the site down completely. Thank you all so much!
Okay guys, the fan book project has been a success so far! I’m going to put together a thank you post later, but really, thank you so much to everyone that has promoted the project in various ways. Your efforts have helped tremendously!!!
So far, we have a whopping 32 messages; 21 from fans and 11 from the Lyme community (many of whom are also fans!). We’ve had such a great start! Hopefully these numbers will continue to grow as the days progress… the deadline will be here before we know it. (If only I had known about this meet and greet sooner!)
I added a new suggestion to the project page, which is this: if you own a Lymenaide awarness bracelet, consider taking a picture of you wearing your bracelet and emailing it to me, and I will in turn make a collage out of ALL of the pictures that are sent in. STEFAN FACES A NEW DANGER — Elena, Damon and Alaric take a road trip to Duke University and search through Isobel’s research on folklore and paranormal phenomena to see if they can uncover any clues to the mystery surrounding the Lockwood family. Isobel’s former student, Vanessa, offers to guide them through the research and ends up getting quite an education herself. Stefan comes face to face with a terrifying new danger in the woods, and Tyler makes a shocking discovery about Mason.
A new promo video for “Brave New World” has been released! This preview also includes a commentary by Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec, so it’s a definite must see.
I’ve also been updating random content throughout the site, mainly in the “Candice” section. Check below for more info on that!
Content Updates:
· The Quotes page has been reorganized, with a few new additions to our collection.
· The Hairstyles of Caroline Forbes has been updated with pictures from the Season 1 finale as well as what we’ve seen of Caroline so far in Season 2.
· A Press Archive is finally in the works. I have decided to just incorporated it into the site instead of making a sub-site. It’s small now, but you can read the articles that we have up so far if you’re interested!
Lastly, I didn’t mention this at the time, but I added a new layout to our photo gallery when the Nylon outtake was added to the site. It’s such a gorgeous picture and the layout over there was getting old, so I just couldn’t resist making something new! I hope you all like it! We finally have a new layout here at Candice Accola Web, just in time for Season 2 of The Vampire Diaries! I actually finished this last week, but had issues with the coding and then I went out of town for the long weekend, so I’m just now able to officially put it up! I hope you guys like it! I added a new gallery layout last night, but I wasn’t happy with it, so I ended up redesigning it today! I actually love how this one turned out because it’s refreshing and different from the style that I normally use. Hopefully you guys will enjoy it! (It looks wonky in Internet Explorer right now, but I’m trying to fix that.)
There hasn’t been much news on the Candice front lately… I’m sure this is due to the fact that they are trying to keep the fate of her character on The Vampire Diaries, Caroline, a secret until the season premiere! Anyway, in the mean time, I’m trying to update parts of the site that I’ve been neglecting. I also want to add content that you guys want to see! I did some behind the scenes work on the site yesterday, and as a result, the Projects section is now complete! You can find information on all of Candice’s projects, ranging from the CD she released to her work on The Vampire Diaries to the various movies she’s appeared in. While I was updating all of that info, I realized that her movie, X’s & O’s, was actually released on DVD on Tuesday the 20th!

We have a brand new layout at our gallery! It’s temporary, but I wanted to update our gallery scripts to avoid hacks, and with that I had to change our template. Please let me know if you guys run into any problems while you’re looking for pictures! Oh and you have the option to register now – it isn’t required but feel free to create an account if you’re a regular visitor to the site. :)
I’ve added some older screencaps to the site, both from Seventeen Magazine videos that Candice was featured in! One was from their surprise birthday celebration for Miley Cyrus (we had these caps already, but they are in HQ now) and one was from when the TVD Cast answered questions that fans sent in. The videos will be added to our media archive shortly!
We now have some icons available for your personal use on LiveJournal, forums, etc.! I’m hoping to build up a fanart section in the future, so if you make graphics/fanart and would like to donate your work to the site, that would be awesome! The only regulation is that it has to feature Candice, but that’s probably a given. ;) Anyone that donates will always be given full credit.
